Adoption Baby Albums: So You Think You Can’t Scrapbook

I swore that I would never become a scrapbooker. I saw some awe-inspiring scrapbooks that friends had made, but the thought of cutting up my photographs and then spending lots of dollars on silly little stickers named  “embellishments?” To put it bluntly, I wasn’t a cutsie, sticker kind of girl and I didn’t intend to convert.

And then we adopted my baby. We had dozens of rolls of film developed (this was before digital) and I wanted to write down all those memories that were going through my head, but I couldn’t locate a baby book or adoption book that would do the special times justice to his unique, precious story.

So I went on down to the little craft shop and started choosing stickers, trying to find something other than those with clip art of storks and quotations about pregnancy. Finally, I began designing my own scrapbook overlays with transparencies so I could have expert looking pages about the adoption journey from the homestudy  to adoption day celebrations. I held my breath as I cut my pictures.

Now I cannot conceive that I nearly let the idea of a scrapbooking of my son’s adoption journey pass by me. I would have lost out on some great joy.

Every child has a one-of-a-kind story about his or her birth, but for the adopted child, the account is an greatly extraordinary story that must be recorded in their own Adoption Scrapbook. Now any mom (even the non-crafty ones) can quickly design that special adoption baby book album.

Lisa Copen hopes her difficulty to find to an Adoption Scrapbook Album won’t be yours! She has created over 100 transparency overlays so adoptive parents can easily create a personalized adoption scrapbook for their family and child. It also makes a great present for one who is adopting!
